PLAY THERAPY SUPERVISION
As a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S), I provide individual and group play therapy supervision for clinicians working toward the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) or School-Based Registered Play Therapist (SB-RPT) credential, as well as clinicians who want to strengthen their play therapy skills and continue developing their clinical practice.
Supervision is not limited to clinicians pursuing a credential. Clinicians may also seek supervision to deepen their understanding of play therapy, strengthen their use of specific play therapy approaches, examine their clinical decision-making, or receive ongoing support as their work with children develops.
My areas of play therapy training include Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), the Oaklander Model, AutPlay Therapy, and Theraplay. Supervision integrates theory, clinical skill development, self-reflection, and ethical practice, with attention to how interventions align with both the model being used and the child’s developmental and relational needs.
I offer in-person and virtual supervision.
Who Is Play Therapy Supervision For?
Play therapy supervision is available for clinicians at different stages of professional development. This may include counselors working toward the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) or School-Based Registered Play Therapist (SB-RPT) credential, clinicians who are beginning to incorporate play therapy into their work with children, and experienced play therapists seeking continued development in their clinical practice.
Supervision is individualized based on your level of experience, theoretical orientation, clinical work, and professional goals.
What Is Play Therapy Supervision?
Play therapy supervision focuses specifically on how you understand and use play within the therapeutic relationship. Supervision may include review of play themes, therapist responses, therapeutic limits, clinical decision-making, use of self, and how the child's developmental and relational needs are expressed through play.

Supervision Fee
The fee for play therapy supervision is $75 per hour.
Supervision Structure & Expectations
During the first several supervision sessions, we will collaboratively develop a Development Plan to guide your supervision experience. This plan will help clarify your goals, areas for growth, and the focus of supervision based on your current level of development, clinical interests, and professional goals. For clinicians pursuing the RPT or SB-RPT credential, the Development Plan will also help guide progress toward applicable credentialing requirements.
For clinicians pursuing the RPT or SB-RPT credential, you are required to bring a Weekly Supervision Log to each supervision session, with the top portion completed prior to the session. Credentialing supervision also includes ongoing assessment of clinical development using the Play Therapy Practice and Skills Evaluation. Expectations include:

Section 1 of the Play Therapy Practice and Skills Evaluation will be used to assess video recordings of your play therapy sessions.

A full Play Therapy Practice and Skills Evaluation will be completed every 10 supervision sessions.

Progression through supervision phases and recommendation for RPT or SB-RPT credentialing require a score of “2” or higher on the applicable required components.
The assessment process is intended to support growth, clarify readiness, and promote ethical and competent play therapy practice.
For clinicians seeking play therapy supervision for continued professional development rather than credentialing, the structure of supervision will be individualized based on your experience, clinical work, areas for growth, and professional goals.

Prior to your first supervision session, please download and complete the "Supervision Agreement." You may email the completed form in advance or bring it to your first session. The agreement may also be completed in person at my office.
